Pusat Studi Hukum dan Kebijakan Indonesia (PSHK), ELSAM, Imparsial, LBH Jakarta, and YAPPIKA, as part of the Freedom of Association Coalition, are jointly publishing a report titled “Protection of Human Rights Defenders in the Digital Age in Indonesia.”
This report provides an analysis of the protection of human rights defenders in Indonesia within the context of the evolving digital landscape. It examines the policy and legal frameworks, as well as the practical challenges faced by human rights defenders, including digital threats such as cyberattacks, doxxing, criminalization, and restrictions on civic space online.
The focus of this report is to clearly articulate the current state of legal protection and policy frameworks for human rights defenders in the digital age, in order to inform and serve as a reference for key stakeholders, including policymakers, law enforcement authorities, civil society organizations, and human rights communities in Indonesia.
